Scanning each side of a paper can be a real hassle, especially if there are multiple pages that need to be scanned.

This blog post will guide you to easily scan both sides of the paper

(just like printing duplex). Please note that this blog entry has been written specifically for the primary HP scanner located in the MDS room.

First of all, load all the material you wish to scan onto the feeder located on top of the scanner. Just be sure to file the pages in order and that the first page is on the top and so on and so forth (first page on top of pile, last page on bottom).

Next, open HP Scan, the proprietary scanning software for the printer.

Now, you will be greeted with a menu that allows you to select a Scan Profile. It is suggested that you select documents if you are scanning text pages.

Now make sure you go to Page Options and that you enable duplex scanning.

Once you are satisfied with your changes, simply click on scan and the feeder will automatically load and flip the pages to scan both sides.

Once you have finished scanning, all your scanned images will be neatly displayed on the left hand side of the menu.

You can then use the handy toolbar (locate at the center of the screen) to either rotate, flip, straighten or crop the images to your satisfaction.

You can even switch pages around (like you would in a PowerPoint Slideshow). Just click and drag any particular image up or down where you wish to place it.

Once you are done editing your scanned images, you can save all the scanned images in one .pdf file.

Click on File–> Save –> make sure the save all pages in one file option is enabled–> assign a file name–> make sure the location is set–> click save.

This is how you can easily scan both sides of multiple pages and create a single .pdf file that contains all the images.
